A lone ranger is to be hired as a troubleshooter to patrol the shores of Loch Ken.
Last summer rogue campers lit fires, destroyed trees and littered the loch-side.
And this year local management group the Loch Ken Trust is keen to avoid a repeat.
The new employee will provide “a positive, visible presence” around the water.
The trust hopes an extra pair of eyes will “enhance the experience for both residents and visitors”.
Chairman Alan Smith said: “This marks a major milestone on a broader aim of supporting the communities, businesses, visitors and user groups around Loch Ken.
”When the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 was implemented, it had a massive influence on access rights across Scotland.
“The passing of the legislation, nearly 20 years ago marked only the start of a learning process on the opportunities and challenges that this brings to an attractive rural area such as Loch Ken.
“We now have an opportunity to act as an exemplar on how these issues can be managed.”
Mr Smith said the ranger role was a “innovative response” at a time of increasing public use of Scotland’s remote places and increased challenges posed by Covid-19.
The job – which runs from April to October – will involve close liaison with the council’s community safety team and Police Scotland.
Mr Smith added: “There is also a strong economic development case attached to this work.
