Locations of nine new walk-in Covid-19 test centres announced

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that nine new Covid-19 walk-in test centres will open up across Ireland next week - as well as some being extended until Sunday.

People will not be required to get a referral from their GPs and the tests will be free.

They will have to bring ID and provide their phone number in order to get their results.

You can use this free, walk-in Covid-19 testing service if you:

  • Are aged 16 and over
  • Do not have symptoms, but would like to be tested
  • May not have your own GP (doctor),

Minister Donnelly said last month the aim of these pop up facilities is to “target” the virus.

The following centres are due to come into/remain in operation around the country for asymptomatic people:

  • St Catherine’s Community Sports Centre, Marrowbone Lane, The Liberties, Dublin, D08 W5WC, 17 to 29 April, 11am to 7pm.
  • Mulhuddart, Cumann Naomh Peregrine, Blakestown Road, Dublin, D15 PW80, 10 to 25 April, 11am to 7pm.
  • Parnells GAA Club, 30 Main Street, Coolock, Dublin, D05 H2W0, 16 to 25 April, 11am to 7pm.
  • Randal Óg GAA Club, Dunmanway, Co. Cork, P47CK70, open until 27 April, 9am to 5pm.
  • St Loman’s Hospital Campus, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, N91X36E, open until 27 April, 9am to 5pm.
  • Killadreenan Community Testing Centre, Wicklow, A63 CD30, 23 to 29 April, 10am to 5pm.
  • Ballymullen Barracks, Tralee, V92 C996, 21 to 27 April, 9.30am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm. Sunday 25 April 2pm to 5pm only.
  • Mayflower Community Centre, Drumshambo, Co. Leitrim, N41 Y8P6, 23 April 1.30pm to 7pm, 24 and 25 April 10am to 6pm.
  • St Conal’s, Lettekenny, Co. Donegal, F92 TD92, 24 to 30 April, 9.30am to 6pm.
  • Kilcohan Test Centre, Kilcohan, Waterford, X91 EY73, 24 to 30 April, 10am to 6pm.

  • Castlerea Fire Station, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, F45 PX 84, 27 April to 3 May, 10am to 5.30pm.

  • Former Castlebrand Factory, Tyone, Nenagh, Tipperary, E45 TY04, 27 April to 3 May, 8.30am to 6.30pm.

  • Irish Wheelchair Association, The Glebe, Dublin Road, Tuam, Co. Galway, H54 TR77, 26 to 28 April, 11am to 7pm.
