Location, Location, Location fans fume over ungrateful couple with £800,000 budget

Location, Location, Location viewers were outraged last night when a demanding couple with a £800,000 budget rejected a five-bedroom house because it didn't have enough room for a playpen.

Host Phil Spencer was tasked with helping vets Sam and Andy find a home in the West Midlands in which to grow their family.

Having just inherited some cash, they had an eye-watering £800,000 to splurge on a luxury home in upmarket villages around Solihull.

Their requirements were a property with large grounds, plenty of bedrooms and enough room for their baby daughter Evie and dog Bracken.

So viewers were astounded when they turned their noses up at a sprawling five-bedroom Grade II listed building in Balsall Common - priced at an eye-watering £775,000 - because they didn't think it could hold a playpen.

And that was despite the endless downstairs living space, massive kitchen and rambling garden.

Sam - who met Andy at uni - told co-host Kirstie Allsop: "It’s a very nice house but what I was hoping for was either space to put a play pen, just space really for Evie to be in here especially when she starts moving around."

But an exasperated Phil disagreed, arguing, "This house is ideal and they should just move in and get it done."

And the Channel 4 show's viewers felt his pain.

"No room for a playpen"? Good grief, it's a ruddy mansion! Why on earth does this tiny family want such a huge house anyway?" ranted one watcher.

"No room for a play pen ? First world problems - how do the presenters keep a straight face?" questioned another.

And a third sniped, "I'd tell those 2 with the 800k budget to get lost and find their own house!"

And after turning down all three properties, that's exactly what they did, purchasing a period property £25,000 over their budget.
