Locals have been warned to be careful when out walking after a man allegedly approached a woman and masturbated in front of her at a popular Kildare park.
The woman was walking her dog this morning on the grounds of Castletown House in Celbridge.
She was approached by a man at the temple area of the ground who exposed himself and then started masturbating in front of her.
The man followed the woman a short way before she met with some other walkers.
The woman's husband shared details of the shocking incident on a local Facebook page and said his wife had been left shaken by the incident.
Locals replied to the post expressing their disgust at the incident.
One woman said: "That's just horrible, your poor wife, fingers crossed the police get him."
Another added: "I walk my dog every day along there so appreciate the heads up.
"I hope your wife is not too shaken but that’s not a nice experience for her."
The incident has been reported to gardai and the OPW, who run the house and parklands.
A spokeswoman for the OPW said: "The Management of Castletown House is aware of an incident which allegedly took place in the grounds of the estate yesterday morning. The incident has been reported to An Garda Síochána."
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred in the Castletown House area of Celbridge, Co. Kildare on Tuesday, 1st October 2019 at approximately 10:00am."
