Locals rush to scoop up cash dropped by clumsy robbers following lottery shop raid

Locals were filmed scooping up cash from the street after a trio of clumsy robbers dropped it as they fled the scene of a bungled raid.

Dozens of residents in Brazil 's Bel m, Par State were captured on CCTV running into the road to collect the banknotes.

According to reports, three suspects raided a lottery shop in the neighbourhood of Marambaia before fleeing the scene together on a single motorbike.

But as the trio attempted to make their escape, wads of cash, as well as lottery tickets, fell from their motorbike onto the ground.

In the CCTV footage, filmed December 21, one of the thieves can be seen running alongside the motorbike before hopping on the back.

Then the three criminals are seen riding off and leaving a behind a trail of cash and lottery tickets, which prompted onlookers to rush to the street and start scrambling on the ground to grab handfuls.

One cyclist can be seen stopping in the road before dismounting his bike to pick up the fallen loot.

In seconds, dozens of residents run into the street from nearby buildings to join the cash-and-grab.

The police have said that no arrests have yet been made, and it is currently unclear how much money the suspects - or the residents - took off with.

The investigation into the shop robbery is ongoing.

It comes shorty after a British man was stripped and robbed of £19,000 Rolex after falling for dating app scam in Brazil.

The victim, who said he spoke Portuguese reasonably well, was able to communicate with the thugs as they kept him in a car for a few hours in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 36-year-old unnamed man was snatched by the gang moments after chatting with a woman on a dating app in Sao Paulo last month.

He was then was beaten, stripped and robbed of all his possessions, including cash, clothes, Nike trainers, a Rolex watch worth close to £20k, an iPhone 11 and a Louis Vuitton belt.

Following a tip-off, cops detained a 16-year-old boy, who was later identified by the victim at the police station.

Officers seized 1,457 Brazilian Real (£230) in cash, as well as a Samsung mobile phone from him.

The victim told local media that he lives in London but regularly makes trips to Brazil to visit his one-year-old son, who lives with his mother, from whom he is separated.
