Tributes have been paid to Kerry woman Joanne Downey after she died in a traffic accident over the weekend.
Joanne, aged in her 50s, was rushed to hospital on Friday morning after being hit by a truck while walking in Killarney.
Mrs Downey was rushed to Cork University Hospital where she sadly passed away on Sunday morning.
Tributes have been paid to the "lovely woman" with the whole community left in shock.
The mother of six was a popular lady in the area and made many friends through her work in healthcare and her volunteer work in the local GAA club.
Killarney Legion said in a statement: "The club is devastated beyond words to hear of the very, very sad passing of Joanne”.
It added: “Our deepest thoughts, sympathies and prayers go to Chris, Mark, Shane, Katrina, Ellie, Cassie and the Davies family. A true lady and Legion legend."
Many more offered their condolences to Joanne's family online.
One friend said: "The most obliging helpful person you could ever meet.
"Embraced everything a club volunteer is about.Deepest sympathy to Chris and all the family."
Another added: "So sad to hear the news of Joanne untimely passing.
"Such a wonderful person always had a smile and a chat. Sympathies to you all on the devastating loss of your Mother. May she rest in peace."
Requiem mass is due to take place on Wednesday morning at 10:30am in St Mary's Cathedral.
Public health restrictions apply with the funeral set to be private although it will be streamed online by the Killarney parish.
