An iconic Malahide restaurant is set to close its doors this Sunday.
Giovannis Pizzeria Restaurant has announced its closure after 30 years in the business.
Owner Salah said on Facebook: “It is with great sadness that we announce, after 30 fantastic years, Giovanni’s will be closing its doors this Sunday the 16th of February.
“It is with a heavy heart that we make this decision but the time has come to say goodbye to the longest established Restaurant in Malahide.
“We absolutely love our regulars- you know who you are!
“Thank you for the laughs…”
Heartbroken locals have taken to social media to express sadness at the announcement.
One person said: “The best restaurant in malahide so sad to see it go. Best of luck to you all.”
Another person said: “So sad to read this. Giovannis - best work years, craziest customers and funniest work family!! Had so many lovely celebratory & family meals there too.
“Thanks for the great memories Salah and the Giovannis family. Enjoy finally putting the feet up Salah my friend.”
