Locals' fury after lorry crashes into notorious Falkirk railway bridge again

Locals are up in arms over the closure of a main Falkirk road after a lorry crashed into a bridge - and it's not the first time.

Police were forced to shut Glasgow Road after the incident at the Three Bridges roundabout at around 11am on Sunday December 15.

Diversions are in place, with officers estimating the road to be closed in both directions until around 10pm tonight.

But residents are venting their fury online having been affected by a series of accidents at the same spot over the last few months.

We previously told how an off after colliding with the railway bridge back in October.

Pictures online showed the road covered in debris from the wrecked vehicle after it mis-judged the height of the overpass, causing part of the side split in two.

Commenting on Forth Valley Police's Facebook warning, Chris Duffy wrote: "Once again, many thanks to the lorry driver who does not know the height of their vehicle and is now causing pandemonium for everyone."

While some, like Scott Malcolm, say the signs are 'showing the wrong height'. He asked: "How many times is this gonna happen?"

And Chris Kennedy sarcastically added: "That's good going. Guinness World Record attempt?"

A statement on Forth Valley Police Division said: "Road users are advised to avoid the area as the road is currently closed in both directions.

"The road is likely to be closed until around 10pm this evening, Sunday 15 December 2019."
