Locals baffled after spotting Easter Eggs for sale in Scottish shops

It might be 100 days until Easter, but some shops have already begun stocking their chocolate eggs ahead of the big day.

One local woman was left baffled after spotting the eggs for sale at The Range in Livingston only days after Christmas.

"Went to The Range and they are selling Easter eggs," Louise said on Twitter after visiting the shop.

The Daily Record reported that it wasn't just in Livingston, with Easter Eggs spotted on sale down south at supermarkets like Tesco and Morrisons.

One person shared an image from Tesco, saying: they'd taken in Tesco, said: "Just been down to my local Tesco with my business partner (socially distanced of course), and I'm so surprised to see #Easter Eggs in store.

"Anything to look forward to next year I suppose! Great effort."

Supermarkets said that the move was to let some shoppers get ahead of the game.

A Tesco spokesperson told the Sun: "It's a few weeks until customers are able to choose from our full range of Easter products.

"However, we know some of our customers like to buy their eggs early so we have started selling a small selection in some of our stores."
