Local rages as tourist sets up camp 'outside my garden' on NC500

A LOCAL has reacted with anger after a tourist set up camp just outside her garden on the North Coast 500 route.

In a post on the NC500 The Dirty Truth Facebook group, one person shared a video of a man setting up a tent in full view of her house.

She first asked whether this was allowed, before adding: “Setting up camp literally right outside my garden in full view of my house. Where’s he gonna go to the toilet???”

The NC500 is one of Scotland’s most popular road trips, attracting thousands of visitors and growing every year.

But this has often led to criticism from locals, including people increasingly using the countryside as a toilet rather than using the facilities, as well as with speeding cars.

We reported last year how a group of petrol heads were snapped parking their supercars in dangerous spots along the route.

Posting pictures on Instagram, a member of a squad of around a dozen supercars drivers took an aerial shot of their vehicles on the Kylesku Bridge in Sutherland while the road was open.
