Local elections 2022: Tell us what you'll be voting on this year

The local elections are just around the corner - and we want to know which issues you'll be thinking about when you make your vote.

Liverpool sits out the May 5 elections this year, following the Max Caller report into mismanagement in the city council. But voters in the other Mersey boroughs still have a chance to have their say.

Wirral is particularly in the spotlight this time round, as the borough is currently under no overall control.

But this is the first national electoral test for the Tories, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson, following the damaging Partygate scandal, the soaring cost of living crisis, and the end of Covid restrictions.

So we want to know... will it be local issues that determine your vote on Thursday, May 5? Or will you use your vote to deliver a verdict on the Government?
