A Local Election candidate was hospitalised over the weekend after he fell while putting up campaign posters.
Bernard Mulvany was up a tall ladder on the Clontarf seafront securing a loose poster to a lampost when he fell and hit his head.
Ironically, the civic-minded activist was only up there because he feared the placard could have caused an injury to the public had he not gone up to fasten it properly.
The People Before Profit was taken to the Mater Hospital where he is still recovering.

Mr Mulvany said he has little memory of the incident and said his accident highlights the dangers of putting up election posters.
He said: “For parties with less funds, we have to rely on ourselves to put up our posters on lamp posts.
"My supporters help me with this. But we do not have the funds and access to advertise at bus shelters and billboards.
"What has happened to me shows that running in elections is not a level playing field.
"Candidates like People Before Profit do their own work sometimes at risk to themselves."
In spite of this setback, Mr Mulvany said he has received hundreds of messages of support and is determined to be back on the campaign trail in the coming days.
