Feb. 11--Pat McGann is scheduled to perform on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" a little over a year after making his network debut on the late night talk show. The Morgan Park native and Marist High School alum is expected to appear on Friday's episode, which will tape Thursday evening.
"I am not sure if I will be less nervous (this time) but I'd like to think so," McGann said over email Wednesday. "There will certainly be less 'unknowns' about how the day will go. There will still be nerves though, but that's a good thing. That usually helps (me) focus a bit."
What did McGann learn from his last "Late Show" appearance?
"I learned that they will steam my shirt backstage before the taping," McGann said, "so I won't make the rookie mistake of ironing it in my hotel room."
Because Letterman is leaving "Late Show" May 20, this is likely McGann's last time performing on the late night legend's show. McGann told me last year that Letterman's show was his goal from the beginning. "He's my Johnny Carson," McGann said after his first "Late Night" performance.
You can catch McGann March 31-April 4 at Zanies Comedy Club-Chicago.
