Local artist Geoff Tracey pays tribute to Tallaght legend Paddy Drac with stunning portrait

A fireman who is also an artist has paid an amazing tribute to Dublin's most legendary vampire Paddy Drac.

Paddy 'Drac' Finlay passed away in April following a battle with cancer.

The Tallaght native had dressed as Dracula for decades, and had even taken part in the St Patrick's Day Parade for 50 years.

Geoff Tracey was spotted painting the box on the Old Bawn Road yesterday and it looks absolutely amazing.

Tallaght Community Council praised the portrait and noted that it was close to Paddy's home.

They said: "Well done Geoff Tracey for this wonderful piece of art to pay tribute to a Tallaght legend, Paddy Drac ( Paddy Finlay, RIP). Close to his home and visible to thousands who pass this junction daily."

Former undertaker Paddy had also engaged in a huge amount of charity work throughout his life, picking up the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tallaght Person of the Year Awards in 2016.

Famous pals including comedian Syl Fox and hotelier Louis Fitzgerald also turned out to pay their respects to the popular Dub whose funeral mass took place in his local church at St Dominic's.
