Loads of bin bags of drug paraphernalia dumped in field in Carmarthenshire

An investigation is underway after around 100 bags of drug paraphernalia were dumped in a field in a rural part of Carmarthenshire.

The bin bags were dumped and left in a field in the village of Llannon, around three miles south of Cross Hands.

The bags are said to contain some general waste but mainly cannabis plantation paraphernalia, and police are now investigating the incident in order to try to ascertain where they came from.

Police also said this was not the first time that they have been called to this sort of incident in the area, with a local police team tweeting that "cannabis plantation paraphernalia have been dumped again in Llannon".

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “The bags were found and reported to police on Thursday, June 4. They are believed to contain mainly cannabis paraphernalia with some general waste.

“Enquiries are continuing and police are linking in with the county council to progress the investigation.”

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident, and police are asking anyone with information to either contact them directly on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
