The Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar said it has shot down two Turkish drones in Dynar and Tininai valleys, which were trying to bomb ambulances and aid vehicles in Bani Walid town, according to Libyan military and local sources.

The drones were also targeting an army site near Tarhuna city, which is considered the first major army base in LNA’s campaign to liberate Tripoli.

LNA Military Media Division announced in a brief statement that its defenses shot down a Turkish drone in Tarhuna, without giving further details.

LNA’s Operation Dignity Room also issued a statement in which it indicated the drone was downed while it was trying to carry out a combat mission.

On the other hand, forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA) accused LNA forces of bombing residential areas in Ain Zara and killing a doctor.

Operation Volcano Rage issued a statement claiming that LNA forces bombed food stores in the al-Karimiya area, killing a citizen and injuring 11 others, including four people from one family.

Spokesman of Libyan Ambulance Service Ousama Ali confirmed in a press statement that a house was bombed in al-Hadaba al-Badri, injuring five citizens.

The Service urged Tripoli residents to remain in basements and avoid balconies or windows and adhere to the curfew.

Ali also reported that Royal Clinic in Tripoli was targeted, and officials evacuated it from patients and medical staff.

Local media loyal to GNA quoted the mayor of Souk al-Jumaa in Tripoli, as saying that the LNA forces bombed a residential neighborhood with Grad missiles.

In another development, LNA spokesman Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari quoted commander of Tobruk Military Region Major General Salem al-Refadi as confirming that the incident between members of Tobruk Directorate and another local was accidental.

On Thursday, an issue occurred between members of Tobruk’s rescue team and a store owner over coronavirus measures, which led to the death of one citizen and injury of others.

Mismari stressed that reports published by channels of the Muslim Brotherhood are false, noting that the unfortunate event occurred while the rescuers were trying to implement the curfew measures imposed to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
