LN-CC might not be a household name, such as Selfridges and Harrods, but the shop – in London’s Dalston and online – is where cool kids head for their retail therapy. First founded in 2010 by John Skelton, with an interior devised by set designer Gary Card, LN-CC’s London boutique felt like shopping in a spaceship. (Brands like Rick Owens and JW Anderson have jumped on the bandwagon with the otherworldly feel – very this week, thanks to the Louis Vuitton show.)
Forced to close in 2013 due to financial troubles, LN-CC has been relaunched this week after new investment and is alive and well both in bricks-and-mortar form and online. Designs from the more obscure end of the fashion spectrum are still Skelton’s calling card. Take this bag from Adaism, a Portuguese brand designed by Annett Bourquin: a cork version of the kind of paper grocery bag you get in American supermarkets. We think you’ll find it is just weird enough.
