Lloyds Bank South West invests in headquarters and team

Lloyds Bank has appointed a new area director for its SME business in the South West and moved to a new headquarters in Bristol.

Kirsten Burnard will lead Lloyds Bank’s team of nine relationship managers in Dorset and Somerset as it provides support to local businesses with revenues of £25m and below.

Ms Burnard has more than eight years-experience in corporate banking having joined Lloyds Bank as part of its apprenticeship program before progressing into the large corporate manufacturing team.

On her appointment Ms Burnard said: “The South West is one of the most attractive places to do business in the UK and is home to many thriving firms that have an enormous impact on the UK economy.

“Business confidence in the region is high, and we know many are planning to invest in growing their teams and expanding their products and services in the months to come. We’re excited to be working with businesses as they strive towards their growth ambitions.”

Lloyds Bank’s South West team has also invested in its regional headquarters, having recently refitted the waterside Bristol workspace, Harbourside.

The four-story development has been transformed into a 2,100 sq ft digital hub. The business has also invested in Harbourside’s green credentials, including 24 brand new charging stations and LED lighting.

The technology will save 852kWh of electricity per year throughout the building and be key to Lloyds Banks commitment to half its energy usage by 2023. The new workspace has been designed to encourage collaboration and "will help support the team as it delivers for businesses across the region".

Amanda Dorel, regional director for the South West at Lloyds Bank, said: “We’re proud of the role we play in supporting growth and innovation across the region's key sectors. Continuing to invest in our people and our premises will help us provide the best support to our customers across the South West.

“Looking ahead we’ll be by the side of businesses as they build their growth plans and target new opportunities.”
