Lloris or Ramsdale, Saka or Richarlison - Arsenal and Tottenham combined North London Derby XI

Who will come out on top in the first North London Derby of the Premier League season on Saturday? History would suggest Arsenal, given it's at the Emirates Stadium, where Tottenham have not won since 2010.

And there is a fair amount riding on this fixture, with both sides knowing whoever wins will be top of the Premier League table. It's set to be an intriguing contest in north London on Saturday lunchtime, with both sides looking for early season bragging rights.

Both teams have strong lineups this season, as shown in their league positions. But what would a combined Arsenal and Tottenham team look like? We asked our football.london writers from each north London persuasion to have their say. And we're asking you to name your combined XIs too...

Alasdair Gold - Tottenham correspondent

Combining a Spurs and Arsenal XI is always loaded with difficulties, including having seen more of one team than the other across the season as well as teams playing with different formations.

I'm going to stick with Tottenham's current 3-4-3 formation in order to crowbar both Dejan Kulusevski and Gabriel Jesus in with the Swede, who is a doubt for Saturday's north London derby, playing at right wing-back. Richarlison could easily have got in as well such are the strength of Spurs' attacking options now, but Jesus having seven goal involvements - four goals and three assists - from his eight matches gets him in there.

William Saliba has impressed this season so far and is a player Spurs looked at before he headed to the Gunners so I'm going to work him into the back three alongside Cristian Romero and Eric Dier.

I went back and forth over Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Martin Odegaard to partner Rodrigo Bentancur in the centre of the pitch and the Dane got the nod because he's got one more goal involvement - two goals and two assists - to the Norwegian's three goals. It also would have be too attacking a line-up if I hadn't.

Gold's team: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Saliba; Kulusevski, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic; Jesus, Kane, Son.

Kaya Kaynak - Arsenal correspondent

There's not much to separate between these two teams and that becomes apparent right from the off when picking this combined XI. Ramsdale and Lloris are both top keepers, but based on distribution capabilities I'm going to go for the Arsenal man.

In front of him I've got a back four that features Ben White on the right as a testament to how good he's already been this season in that new position. Inside of him it's impossible to leave out Saliba, while Romero shifts over to the left side of defence, with Zinchenko making the cut at left back.

I've gone for an entirely Arsenal midfield as I just don't feel Spurs have the players in their squad capable of controlling possession to the same level, and in fairness with Antonio Conte's effective counter attacking tactics they don't need them. The toughest choice was Xhaka over Bentancur, but the Swiss takes it on his form right now.

I've slightly cheated up top in order to get both Kane and Jesus in by having the Brazilian start on the right wing where he played much of last season. Amazingly that means I have to leave out Saka, Kulusevski and Martinelli, because Son simply has to be in.

Kaynak's team: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Romero, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard; Jesus, Kane, Son.

Lee Wilmot - Head of football

This is not easy. Not as easy as it has been in the past few seasons that's for sure, with Arsenal showing flair and a bit of steel so far this year that Tottenham also have under Antonio Conte.

For his distribution alone I'm going to go for Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks. I love Hugo Lloris but he has looked a bit suspect at times with his feet. In front of him it's half and half - Ben White and William Saliba for Arsenal and Cristian Romero and Ivan Perisic for Spurs.

I'm going 4-3-3, which means a midfield trio of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur and Martin Odegaard. Then ahead of them Kane and Son have to be in, with Bukayo Saka making up the trio.

Wilmot's team: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Romero, Perisic; Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Odegaard; Son, Saka, Kane.

Bailey Keogh - Arsenal writer

The defence for the combined XI almost picks itself. Ben White has been sensational on the right-hand side, with Emerson Royal not replicating the level of performances by the Englishman. Meanwhile, William Saliba has arguably been the best central defender in the Premier League this season, so he should be placed alongside the ever-solid Cristian Romero. With Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back, it was a toss-up between him and Ivan Perisic.

Thomas Partey is undoubtedly the first name in this midfield and he pivots alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has also performed well this season. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard takes the final midfield spot as the Gunners' skipper must be included.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are certainties in the team. Bukayo Saka takes the right-hand side as he has been a crucial presence for the Gunners in the Premier League this season.

Keogh's team: Lloris; White, Romero, Saliba, Zinchenko; Partey, Hojbjerg, Odegaard; Son, Saka, Kane.

Now it's time for you to pick your combined team.

How many Arsenal players would you put in? What about the Spurs boys? Is it a reasonably even split, or does one team far outweigh the other?
