Llorente's Raphinha rollicking, Heckingbottom's Leeds United reunion and moments you missed

Llorente gets into Raphinha

Diego Llorente, as he did at Fulham, was not afraid to let his team-mates know when they were in the wrong or had left the team in a mess on Saturday.

Raphinha, the bringer of joy, creativity and goals, is also guilty of the odd loose pass in his pursuit of perfection.

In the 59th minute on Saturday, with Leeds United holding onto a narrow one-goal lead, the Brazilian misplaced a pass and gifted possession to Sheffield United, allowing them to counter with the hosts out of shape.

Llorente was the man to ultimately snuff out the attack with a tremendous sliding tackle, taking man and ball.

With danger averted he was sure to let Raphinha know what kind of mess he had dropped everyone in with such a tight lead still.

Bielsa delays Klich’s entry

Mateusz Klich was stripped and ready to enter the fray in the 79th minute in Tyler Roberts’s place.

The electronic board went up with their shirt numbers, but Marcelo Bielsa was not happy with the timing of the switch.

The head coach bellowed at Benoit Delaval, the fourth official and Klich to wait, first in Spanish and then in English.

It would be another two minutes before the Poland international would eventually get on.

Heckingbottom reunited

This was Paul Heckingbottom’s first time back at Elland Road since his 2018 departure in the weeks before Bielsa arrived.

While his short spell with United was not memorable for wins or a play-offs push, he did still spend four months working a number of the players still on the books with Leeds.

At full-time, as he made his way onto the pitch to shake the players’ and officials’ hands, there were noticeable moments with Luke Ayling, Ezgjan Alioski, Tyler Roberts and Kalvin Phillips.

Later, on his way back to the Blades dressing room, Pablo Hernandez was spotted waiting by the mouth of the tunnel to make sure he exchanged a few words with his old boss.

Lorimer remembered

Black armbands were worn during the match to remember Peter Lorimer, Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight, but there were special t-shirts printed for the warm-up too.

RIP Peter Hotshot Lorimer was the message printed on plain white shirts the players had on to ensure the club’s record goalscorer was suitably marked in the first match since his passing.

There was one minute’s applause for all three of the men before kick-off too.
