Llanerch Vineyard to open new rooftop terrace and tasting lodge

Wales' only vineyard hotel, The Llanerch Vineyard Hotel, is set to open a brand new Tasting Lodge and swanky new rooftop bar in the next few weeks. The popular wedding venue based in the Welsh countryside in Hensol, Vale of Glamorgan, houses one of the oldest vineyards in Wales and produces five varieties of Llanerch’s own award-winning Cariad wine.

Already showcasing a restaurant offering lunch, dinner, Sunday roasts and afternoon tea - cooked by head chef Andy Aston and his team of 18 - plus an outdoor terrace leading to the vines, Llanerch's brand new rooftop terrace will give wine-lovers views across the vineyard while they enjoy a tipple from the hotel's own selection - Cariad Sparkling Blush, a Cariad Sparkling Brut, a Cariad Dry White, a Cariad Off-Dry White, Cariad Rose - and more.

Ryan Davies, director of Llanerch Vineyard, explains: "Our new rooftop terrace has fantastic views and is the best place to relax for a lunchtime or pre-dinner drink whilst soaking in the views over the vineyard and the rolling hillsides, which have true the "wow" effect!"

And for those with a passion for Pinot, Llanerch's wine tastings, which were previously held in a marquee, have a new home: the Tasting Lodge. Opening on Saturday, May 21, this lodge is a new, purpose-built 200 square foot building dedicated to the Llanerch wine experience.

"Over the past 10 years we have been striving to make Llanerch a premium location in Wales and across the UK," says Ryan. "To do this we have been committed to improving our facilities and offerings at Llanerch, to create the Llanerch Experience.

"Our vineyard tours and wine tastings have been held from a marquee for the past five years, and whilst at one time this fitted the character of Llanerch, it was time to provide a first class facility where we could host year-round wine tastings no matter what the weather."
