A Llanelli curry house has been named the Best Regional Restaurant of the Year in Wales at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.
Sheesh Mahal picked up the award that honours what the organisation believes are the best of South Asian, Thai and Chinese cuisine across the country.
The UK’s Curry industry contributes £5bn annually, which as of 2015 has accounted for a fifth of the restaurants in the UK dating back to the 1800’s. Today there are more Indian restaurants in Greater London than in Delhi and Mumbai combined.
Monuhor Ali, the owner of Sheesh Mahal, Swansea said: “It’s an incredible honour to be named as the Best Regional Restaurant of the Year in Wales at the Asian Restaurants & Takeaway Awards 2019.
