Llanelli half marathon to return in autumn

The race is on!

Llanelli half marathon is to return in October, 18 months after it was last held.

The event, which attracts thousands of runners, was last held in March 2020 - just weeks before the outbreak of the pandemic.

Like everything else across the world, coronavirus put plans for the annual event on hold, but organisers have now confirmed the 13 mile run around the town will take place in October.

Llanelli half marathon sees runners set off from Parc y Scarlets to tackle a 13.1 mile course along the Millennium Coastal Path.

This year's run, on October 31, will be the fifth time the event has been held.

It was last held on March 8 2020, which was a rescheduled after extreme weather from Storm Ciara, which saw gale force winds of up to 50mph and heavy showers, meant the original date in February had to be postponed.

The event attracts both serious and those whose goal is simply to complete the course.

You can sign up for the event by visiting their website.
