Llandudno tourism attraction will stay closed for the rest of the year

A well known tourism attraction in Llandudno has announced it will stay closed for the rest of the year.

While much of the tourism sector in Wales has now reopened after lockdown the Great Orme Tramway says it will stay shut.

Opened in 1902 it is Britain's only cable-hauled public road tramway and takes visitors to the summit of the Great Orme(Gogarth).

They do promise to return in 2021 and make the year "better than ever".

They said: "We’re sorry to announce that the Tramway will not be open this year.

"We know this is disappointing for everyone who loves the Tramway and we look forward to welcoming you back next year.

"We’re working on improving facilities and adding events to make 2021 better than ever."

After posting the news on social media they received lots of positive comments from visitors who said they understood the decision and looked forward to visiting next year.
