Lllandudno is already a firm hit with Brits after a staycation but the Welsh seaside resort might be about to get an extra boost of popularity.
That's because the holidays hotspot is being tipped as one of the world's top eight emerging holiday destinations for 2022, according to travel predictions by Booking.com.
The accommodation booking platform has revealed the findings of its study into holiday habits for 2022 and predicts Llandudno will be a huge hit next year, explaining that "this seaside gem is the perfect staycation escape complete with beaches, nature and castles".
Llandudno has long been a hit for its sandy beaches, family-friendly attractions from museums and tramways to the iconic pier, as well as the countless cosy hotels and brilliant pubs that can be found around the resort.

So, what are the top eight trending destinations for 2022, according to Booking,com's research?

- Taichung, Taiwan : "Bustle your way through the buzzing street markets of Taiwan’s second-largest city."
- Gramado, Brazil : "This picturesque mountain resort is perfect for those travellers who like to be ‘off the beaten path."

- Brașov, Romania : "Transport back in time in this city full of romantically Gothic architecture set in the heart of Transylvania."
- Llandudno, UK : "This seaside gem is the perfect staycation escape complete with beaches, nature and castles."
- Montpellier, France : "Situated on the beautiful white-sand Mediterranean coast, an ideal getaway for exquisite art and even better cheese."
- Melaka, Malaysia : "Rich with ancient landmarks and heritage buildings, as well as wildlife in Melaka’s idyllic botanical garden".
Of course while there's plenty to get inspired with for future holidays, there continue to be travel restrictions in place throughout the pandemic.
Although there are plenty of countries open to Brits for holidays, not all destinations have reopened their borders to UK travellers. Always check the latest Foreign Office advice for a destination before booking a trip, as this will include information on entry rules and other important information.
The UK recently removed seven countries from the red list meaning that from November 1, there won't be countries which require quarantine hotel stays for travellers returning to the UK. (Countries will have their own entry rules though for the outbound journey).
This doesn't mean the red list has been scrapped - countries could be added back if their Covid situation escalates in coming months.
When returning to the UK from anywhere on the 'rest of the world list', testing and self-isolation requirements depend on your vaccination status.
Those who are fully vaccinated will need to take either a PCR test or lateral flow test on day two when back in the UK. Those who are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated will be required to take a pre-departure test, self-isolate for 10 days and take PCR tests on days two and eight once back in the UK.
