Lizzo calls out people who use her name to refer to 'big girls' on TikTok: 'That is a compliment'

Lizzo has called out people who write her name in the comments every time there is a “big girl” on TikTok, explaining that it is actually a “compliment”.

“Every time there is a big girl on this app, I find that people always put my name in the comments,” Lizzo said in a TikTok video. “And to the people who always be putting my name in the comments, thank you.

“Because, you know what? If every time you see a big girl on this app loving on herself and putting herself out there and being confident and loving her body, you think of me? Or you think she looks like me? B***h that is a what? Compliment.”

In the clip, the singer then said that using her name actually proves that she has been successful at promoting self-acceptance and positive body image.

“That means I’m out here doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” the 32-year-old said. “Letting you b***hes know that next time you try to make fun of a woman for her body, or her size, that b***h, we're out here and we don't give a f***.

“And we're confident and we're bad b***hes and we're cover stars,” she continued, adding that they are the ones who get the views, the likes and the clicks.

"So thanks," Lizzo concluded. "And to all the big girls, I see you.”

The Truth Hurts singer’s TikTok prompted comments of support from her more than 7m followers.

“This made me feel so good on a different level thank you,” one person commented.

Another said: “This is the best speech ever.”

This is not the first time the singer has promoted self-love. In April, the Good as Hell singer asked her followers to say something nice about themselves in the comments underneath a post she shared for her 32nd birthday.
