Liz Hurley hasn’t exactly had the smoothest ride when it comes to love, but it looks like she might have finally found her happy ending — and friends reckon wedding bells could be ringing sooner rather than later.
The 59-year-old actress sent fans into a frenzy on Easter Sunday when she posted a loved-up snap with former country star Billy Ray Cyrus, 63, confirming weeks of speculation that the two are indeed an item, reported the Mirror.
It turns out Liz and Billy Ray first crossed paths while filming Christmas In Paradise back in 2022. After reconnecting last year, with Liz offering him a shoulder to cry on following the collapse of his third marriage, their bond has clearly deepened into something a lot more serious.
According to pals, things are moving at quite a pace. One insider said: “Everyone is saying he could be the one, so don’t be surprised if she marries again.”
Friends close to the actress say that although, on paper, Liz and Billy Ray might seem worlds apart, in reality, they’re a lot more alike than people think. As one source told The Sun: “Everyone is saying Billy and Liz are world’s apart, but actually they are very similar. They have a lot in common and have the same interests.”
The fact that Billy Ray, who’s best known as Miley Cyrus’s dad, rocks long hair and a fair few tattoos hasn’t put Liz off at all. Apparently, he’s “very much her type,” even if he’s a bit different from her past flames like Hugh Grant and the late Shane Warne.
There’s something about Billy Ray’s “twinkle in his eye and a naughty streak that she can’t resist,” according to those in the know. Liz’s romance with Billy Ray comes more than a decade after her painful split from Shane Warne, whom she was once engaged to. And it turns out there’s a real connection between the two new lovebirds. One insider explained: “He really reminds her of Shane Warne, they have a very similar energy about them.”
They added: “Liz has a really good time with Billy, they share a lot of laughs and he is a real flirt, which she loves. Shane was the love of her life and it has taken her years to be able to move on, but she finally feels like she is able to.”
Understandably, Liz has kept this new relationship low-key for a while, wanting to make sure it was the real deal before sharing it with the world. Given how much attention her love life has always attracted, it’s no wonder she’s approached it with a bit more caution this time around.
