Livingston Women’s boss Paul Jaconelli is confident his players won’t show any rust as they look to book their place in the third round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
The Lionesses welcome Stonehaven to the Tony Macaroni Arena having not been in action since a 3-0 win over Morton on November 21 which saw them jump into second place in the Championship South table.
Jaconelli said: “We’ve been keeping up the fitness and working them hard in training so hopefully we don’t get any rust.
“We were on great form before the break and the challenge is to take that into this cup game. There’s a really positive attitude amongst the players and they’ll be desperate to get back out there and play a game.”
He added: “Stonehaven are a team we don’t know much about but that won’t have any impact on our preparation or how we approach the game.
“We know they’re a side that will be capable of beating us if we don’t give 100 per cent commitment and effort.”
