Livingston Women kicked-off their Championship South campaign in fine fashion with a 3-0 home victory over Edinburgh Caledonia.
A scrappy first half-hour swung firmly in the home side's favour when captain Vicky Wood rolled the ball home on 32 minutes. The skipper saw her initial effort saved before Jacqueline Gillies' effort was blocked with the rebound being swept home by Wood.
Livi had earlier breathed a sigh of relief when debutant Charlotte Ferguson tipped a looping effort wide as the visitors looked to open the scoring midway through the first half. Rebecca Jaconelli then rattled the bar three minutes later for the hosts.
Paul Jaconelli's outfit took near total control of the second half but had to wait until the 73rd minute to double their advantage.
The energetic Jen Dodds saw her strike come back off the bar with substitute Kelly Mochan on hand to tap the rebound into the empty net
Wood had gone close to making it a brace but saw her chipped effort go narrowly over while Jaconelli and Dodds both went close as the Lionesses looked to turn the pressure into goals.
Dodds finally got the goal her efforts deserved 12 minutes from time as her delightful touch on the halfway line took her away from her marker before she ran the distance before rolling the ball into the net to complete the scoring.
