Livingston winger Aymen Souda needs to be aware of 'physical, aggressive nature' of Scottish football after being subbed at half-time says Gary Holt

Gary Holt revealed he took Aymen Souda off at half-time against Forfar Athletic because he was ‘rubbish’.

The winger was replaced by Scott Robinson at the interval and the boss said the former Hearts man provided more grit and defensive steel than the flamboyant French-Tunisian.

He commented: “He (Souda) was rubbish. Simple as that. I could have made three or four changes but I just felt that they were getting a bit of joy down that side.

“Aymen was getting caught on the ball too often and he’s got to be aware that teams aren’t going to just say ‘Aymen Souda is a good player we better leave him on the ball.’

“It was good, physical, aggressive Scottish football and he needs to be aware of that and that’s what’s going to happen every single game.”

He added: “I thought Robbo was excellent in the second half. He gave us some impetus and energy.

“His work-rate, his effort and his tenacity certainly gave us more of a foothold in the game in the second half.

“I said to them at half-time that it’s a God given right to run about, and I don’t think we were running about enough in the first half and were waiting on something to happen.

“Go and make a name for yourself. I thought they didn’t do that in the first half but they did in the second.”
