Livingston winger Alan Forrest geared up for challenging Motherwell clash

Livingston winger Alan Forrest says the Lions have what it takes to get the better of Motherwell on Saturday.

The two sides head into the clash at the Tony Macaroni Arena sitting level on points and having shared a 2-2 draw at Fir Park earlier in the campaign.

The Steelmen, though, are coming off their biggest win of the season, having defeated Ross County 4-0, while the Lions have lost two on the bounce.

That doesn’t matter, however, says the former Ayr United man, because Livi have shown they have the quality to pick up the points.

Speaking to the West Lothian Courier, Forrest said: “They’ll be full of confidence and we know there’s no easy games in this league.

“They picked up a very good result but we’ll just be looking to do what we know we can do.

“It doesn’t matter who it is we’re playing, we always try and stick to the game plan and hopefully perform on the day and pick up points.”

He added: “I scored at Fir Park against them, it was a very tough game there. But I don’t see why we can’t get the win if we play to the best of our ability.”

Forrest has made the step up to the top flight for the first time in his career and is currently the club’s top scorer with four goals in all competitions this term.

And while he’s adapted well to life at Livi, he’s not resting on his laurels, saying: “It’s been good and I’m enjoying it. We’ve got a great bunch of lads and I’m learning every day. I’ve played a lot of the games, too, which has helped me settle in and get used to football at this level.

“I’m contributing to the team with goals and assists which is what I was brought in to do. I’m looking to do that in every game.

“I’m happy with the way things have started.”

Livingston go into the clash with no new injury worries while Keaghan Jacobs and Jack McMillan have taken a further step towards full fitness.

One player who won’t be involved is striker Lars Lokotsch who has joined Championship side Raith Rovers on loan.
