Livingston vs Ross County is ON as SPFL reveal virus-hit Staggies didn't request call off

Ravaged Ross County' s clash with Livingston will go ahead despite the club being hit by a vomiting bug that's floored 10 players.

The SPFL have announced the Staggies didn't ask for a fixture postponement despite concerns over whether they would be able to field a team.

But the game has been given the all clear and County, potentially without many of their key players, will travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena for the Saturday Premiership clash.

The league body explained: The SPFL can confirm that the fixture between Livingston and Ross County, scheduled for a 3pm kick off tomorrow (Saturday 21 December) at the Tony Macaroni Arena, will proceed as originally scheduled.

"It can also confirm that no request for postponement was received from either club."

Boss Steven Ferguson admitted on Thursday the Highlanders were up against it ahead of the fixture in West Lothian.

He said: : “We’re decimated. We’ve had to cancel training today.

“We’re going to need to assess what happens. Out of the squad of 22 fit players we work with we’ve eight – and two of them are goalkeepers.

“We have a huge problem. I don’t know what the rules are, but that’s the situation. Our secretary will look into that.

“As it stands, it seems to have ripped right through us.”
