Livingston v Hamilton to be called OFF as wintry conditions force postponement

Hamilton Accies' trip to Livingston tonight is set to be postponed.

With heavy snowfall overnight in West Lothian the pitch at the Tony Macaroni Arena, Lanarkshire Live Sport understands the game has fallen victim to the big freeze with more than a foot of snow covering the ground in places.

Temperatures are also expected to plummet to a bone-chillingly cold -9 degrees Celsius around the 6pm kick-off and the clash will be rescheduled.

Livi are expected to confirm the decision shortly.

Hamilton had been hoping to build on Sunday's 1-1 draw with Rangers, but must now start preparing for a huge Lanarkshire derby clash with Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday.

It's the third time in recent months the Lions have had matches postponed. They recently had two attempts to play Aberdeen called off, with a frozen pitch putting paid to the first go in December and a waterlogged pitch postponing the second bite at the cherry last month.

Livi will now turn their attention to a trip to Tannadice to face Dundee United on Saturday.

Motherwell, meanwhile, are due to travel to Kilmarnock this evening and that is not believed to be under threat, with conditions more favourable in Ayrshire.

The other Scottish Premiership clash tonight between St Mirren and Celtic is an 8pm kick-off in Paisley.
