Livingston striker joins Airdrie as Ian Murray strengthens squad

Airdrie have signed striker Salim Kouider-Aïssa on a two-year deal following his release from Premiership side Livingston.

The 25-year-old former Hearts and Motherwell youth player started his senior career at Stenhousemuir before spells at Queen of the South and Stirling Albion.

He dropped down to junior level to join Kilsyth Rangers in 2018-19, but bounced back up with Queen's Park before joining Livingston in 2020.

Kouider-Aïssa joined Partick Thistle and Queen's Park on loan, before signing at New Broomfield on Thursday.

He goes straight into their squad for the Premier Sports Cup clash against Annan Athletic, subject to SFA approval.

Manager Ian Murray told the club's website: "I'm really glad Salim has chosen to come to Airdrie.

"We're looking forward to working with him, and I feel he'll provide a real threat upfront and great competition.

"I'd like to thank Livingston and David Martindale for the quick, transparent manner in which the deal was done."
