Livingston striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas admits he could leave the club in the summer

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas says his time at Livingston could be coming to an end.

The 30-year-old scored his sixth and seventh goals for the club in their Scottish Cup fourth round penalty shoot-out defeat at the hands of Aberdeen on Saturday evening then admitted he could be plying his trade elsewhere next season.

The striker joined the Lions in September having been out of the game for around 18 months after leaving his previous club PTT Rayong of Thailand.

JET, though, could be jetting off in the summer with Livi boss David Martindale hinting that a return to Thailand could be on the cards with the striker not having started enough games to activate the one-year extension clause on his deal at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Emmanuel-Thomas said: "There is always a possibility of moving on. We still have games to finish and that is the main focus at the moment, to play as well as I can until the season is over.

“I will deal with what happens after that. I’m 30 now and you always have to look to see what is potentially on the cards at this stage in my career.

“I was going to China in February last year and as soon as news of the pandemic came out I knew it was a no-go.

“It was an awkward situation, football stopped in March. I had to wait for the season to resume and finish and then pre-season. It was knock-down after knock-down but I knew I’d get an opportunity at some stage and I had to be ready.

“Coming here helped me to come on leaps and bounds. I’m thankful to the club and Davie for bringing me in and the boys for being great team-mates.”
