Livingston street cordoned off as bomb squad find suspicious device

A bomb squad has been deployed to Livingston suburb after a suspicious device was found.

Police have cordoned off Falconer Rise, Dedridge, since the discovery of the package on Tuesday afternoon.

Edinburgh Live reports that a helicopter has been spotted circling around the area while local residents are being urged to remain in their homes.

The cordon remains in place as officers wait on the arrival of a bomb squad.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers in Livingston are currently dealing with what has been described as a suspicious device on Falconer Rise in Dedridge, Livingston.

"A cordon has been placed around the building until the arrival of an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) team."
