Livingston schoolboy followed down path and attacked by men who approached him

A 14-year-old boy has been left with serious facial injuries after he was attacked in Livingston on Saturday night (September 12).

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the teenager was assaulted in the Howden area at around 9.40pm.

Whilst walking on the Loan Path, the boy told officers that he quickly became aware of two people following him.

After catching up to him, the pair asked him for money before carrying out a sustained attack leaving him with facial injuries.

They then stole his mobile phone and headphones.

The two suspects are both described as white males, around 5ft 10, aged 15-16. One had ginger hair, a skinny build and was wearing a blue and grey tracksuit.

The other has been said to have fair hair with a slim build and was wearing a blue hoodie and grey jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank from Livingston CID said:

“This has been a terrifying ordeal for the young victim. I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV to please get in touch so we can catch those responsible.”
