Livingston are closing in on a loan deal for Scotland under-21 midfielder Ben Williamson from Rangers.
The Daily Record reported last night that the Lions were nearing an agreement with the Gers that would see the 19-year-old move to West Lothian.
The West Lothian Courier understands that Livingston manager David Martindale had been keeping tabs on the youngster for some time, including watching him play several times at Championship side Arbroath last season. Dick Campbell's outfit had Livi youngsters Jack Hamilton and Carlo Pignatiello on loan at the same time.
Williamson made 18 appearances for the Red Litchies after arriving in the January transfer window and helped them to retain their second tier status. He grabbed his only goal in a 4-0 victory over Ayr United and now looks set to test himself in the Premiership with the Lions.
