Livingston new boy Ayo Obileye named in SPFL Championship Team of the Year

New Livingston star Ayo Obileye has been named in the SPFL Championship Team of the Year.

The 26-year-old starred for Queen of the South last term in his first season north of the border, starting every league game for the Dumfries side. He also finished second in the goalscoring charts with nine goals despite playing at centre-back or defensive midfielder for the Doonhamers.

Obileye was also named in the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year and his impressive form earned him a two-year deal with the Lions.

The Londoner will get the chance to meet his new team-mates in West Lothian when the Lions return to pre-season training on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Courier understands that the club are hopeful of completing a loan deal for a defender from an English Premier League club. The Tony Macaroni Arena side have also been linked with a move for Norwich City goalkeeper Daniel Barden.

The Wales under-21 international featured four times for the Canaries last term as they sealed the Championship title.
