Livingston net seven-figure sum up front in Lyndon Dykes transfer deal

Livingston are to receive over £1million up front as part of the Lyndon Dykes transfer.

The Aussie-born striker completed his move to English Championship side Queens Park Rangers yesterday, penning a four-year deal, and becoming Livi’s highest transfer fee received in the process.

And while the West Lothian Courier understands that the guaranteed sum falls short of the reported £2 million, the deal could eventually be worth around £2.5million with bonuses - which include the Londoners getting promoted to the top flight.

The striker’s former club, Queen of the South, are believed to be due a low double-digit percentage of all payments and bonuses as part of the deal - meaning they could net over £300,000.

The Lions, meanwhile, could benefit even further should Dykes move on, with the club retaining a sell-on clause understood to be greater than 10 per cent.

Dykes signed for the Lions in January 2019 before being loaned back to the Dumfries side for the remainder of the season.

His displays in the top flight for Livi last term - netting nine times in the league - prompted a string of suitors with Mark Warburton’s side winning the race after Barnsley had previously seen two bids rejected.
