Livingston midfielder Steve Lawson confirms he's leaving the club after three seasons

Steve Lawson has confirmed that his time at Livingston is over.

The midfielder, who could also feature at full-back, joined the Lions in August 2018 from Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax and went on to make 65 appearances for the club across his three seasons, netting just one goal.

The 26-year-old Togo international made his debut for the club in a 2-0 away victory against St Mirren - which was also former manager Gary Holt's first game in charge.

In a tweet, Lawson said: "It has been an amazing season for us, but sadly after 3 seasons, my time in Livingston FC is coming to his end. So thank you, for the way you welcomed me and for the good time we had together. I'll miss you all and I'm glad to be a part of the story of this club."

Lawson is expected to be one of several players departing the Tony Macaroni Arena this summer with boss David Martindale having spoken of the need for a major turnaround in personnel before next season kicks off.

Loanees Robby McCrorie and Julien Serrano will return to the their parent clubs while Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is expected to sign for Aberdeen. Goalkeeper Ross Stewart has signed a pre-contract agreement with Premiership new boys Hearts.

Joining the club will be former Queen of the South defensive midfielder Ayo Obileye and ex-Port Vale winger Cristian Montano, who have both agreed two-year deals with the Lions.
