Livingston boss David Martindale says the Lions and St Mirren both felt reduced ticket prices for Saturday's League Cup clash between the sides was the perfect way to give something back to the fans.
The two clubs reached an agreement with tickets being priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions in the first game for either side since Scotland moved away from Level 0 - meaning 5000 fans can take in the clash.
And while the two sides are likely to lose money, Martindale said it was for the right reasons.
He commented: "We spoke to Tony Fitzpatrick at St Mirren about giving something back to the fans and they were more than happy to do that as well.
"It’s a good gesture from both sets of clubs and hopefully it attracts as many fans to the game as possible. It’s been a tough 18 months or so for fans, only now being able to get back to games, so it was important we gave something back.
“Both teams are going to lose money but it’s all for the right reasons and I think both clubs should be patted on the back for that.”
