Livingston interim boss David Martindale backs Keaghan Jacobs to bounce back from injury hell

Livingston interim boss David Martindale has hailed Keaghan Jacobs' mental strength as he looks to recover from a foot injury that has kept him out of the since March.

The midfielder - Livi's record appearance holder - underwent an operation earlier this week and Martindale says it will be a huge boost for both the club and the player when he's able to properly rejoin training. It's expected to be around eight weeks before he can take part in some light training.

He said: "This has been going on since March with Keaghan - it has been a long time. It is great to see him making progress and it would be great to have him back among the group.

"The way we work is we have the players in for training and then when they leave the injured players come in as we try and keep the bubbles safer.

"Keaghan doesn’t have the boys to bounce off of but he is a tough boy and he has the mental strength to get through this. He always has had that and he will come through it.”
