Livingston goalkeeper Matija Sarkic earns maiden Montenegro call-up

Livingston goalkeeper Matija Sarkic has been rewarded for his fine recent form with a first-ever call-up to the Montenegro squad.

The on-loan Aston Villa stopper took over the number one jersey earlier this month and has since kept clean sheets in two of his three league appearances.

Montenegro take on England at Wembley on November 14 before hosting Belarus in a friendly five days later.

It marks the second successive season in which a Livingston goalkeeper has earned international honours after Liam Kelly made the Scotland squad last term.

Sarkic (22) has previously represented Montenegro at under-16, under-19 and under-21 level.

The news comes before Livingston travel to Easter Road to take on Hibs this evening.
