Livingston F.C apply for increased capacity ahead of Celtic's visit to West Lothian

Livingston Football Club has applied to West Lothian Council for an increased capacity ahead of the visit of Celtic next month.

Speaking to The Courier, West Lothian Council confirmed that 5000 is currently the limit for outdoor events, and anything above that needs permission from the council.

The council has confirmed that they are currently considering an application from Livingston to exceed the 5000 limit.

Their next two games are away fixtures before Celtic come to Livingston.

A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: “Local authorities will receive applications from event organisers to exceed the capacity limits set out in Scottish Government guidance.

“Each application will be considered on its own merits in terms of the public health controls, risk assessments and other mitigations which are required at this time.

“We have an application from Livingston Football Club, which is under consideration and will be determined in due course. It is not appropriate to discuss any aspects of this with anyone other than the applicant at this stage.”
