Livingston couple celebrate diamond wedding

James and Marjory Rintoul from Eliburn celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on June 25.

They are originally from Comrie in Perthshire where they grew up.

The couple were married in the White Church, Comrie, and in 1968 they moved to Livingston, where they have lived ever since.

They have five children, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Before retiring James (78) worked in the warehouse at Sun Microsystems in Linlithgow and Marjory (79) worked at Racal in Newbridge. She still meets up with some of her friends regularly for lunch.

Since retiring they have enjoyed walking, reading and looking after their garden.

Their secret to a long and happy marriage is treating each other with respect, having patience and the joy of looking after five children.

Due to the coronavirus celebrations were a bit muted but once everyone is allowed to gather in a group and get out a party is planned.
