Livingston boss Gary Holt wary of 'workmanlike' St Johnstone ahead of trip to Perth

Livingston boss Gary Holt says his side will have to be at their best to take anything from Perth when they take on St Johnstone on Saturday.

Livi defeated the Saints when the two sides met in West Lothian in March, but Tommy Wright’s men have won the other two fixtures between the sides and Holt’s side will have to pick up the three points if they are to keep alive their chances of finishing in seventh place.

The head coach said: “They’re a very good side at home and it will be tough for us.

“They’re a workmanlike team who all know their jobs and responsibilities in the team and that makes it a very tough challenge.

“But we’ll have Craig Halkett back which will be a big plus for us and we’ll go with a gameplan and see where that takes us.”

He added: “The guys who came in did well on Saturday.

“Dolly set up two goals but then his man scores the third. It’s a learning experience for him because he’s not been in that position before where he needs to track back. He’s usually been playing up front either as a one or a two.

“Scott Tiffoney and Lee Miller both played well when they came on and it’s just a case of managing them through the week and seeing where the squad is for Saturday.”
