Livingston boss Gary Holt wary of Forfar cup trip with depleted Lions

Livingston boss Gary Holt says his depleted squad will need to be at their best if they are to avoid a Betfred Cup upset.

The Lions travel to Forfar Athletic on Saturday aiming to book a place in the quarter-finals and make it seven games unbeaten to start the season.

However, the gaffer has a long injury list with Hakeem Odoffin, Lee Miller, Cece Pepe, Ibrahima Savane and Scott Robinson set to miss out while Ricki Lamie and Steven Lawless haven’t trained this week.

He said: “We’re down to the bare bones a wee bit. We’ll nurse some of the players through this week and see who’s available.

“We need to be professional and grasp that opportunity to get into a cup quarter-final and we’ve told them they need to get their mindset right.”

He added: “It’s a great opportunity for us but Forfar will be viewing it as a great opportunity for themselves as well.

“We’re not going to just turn up and take it lightly because they’re a good side and they can hurt us.

“But if we can win, that would make it seven games unbeaten and that’s the aim.”
