Livingston boss Gary Holt says players must forget about win over Celtic as they prepare for Kilmarnock clash

Livingston boss Gary Holt says his players need to forget about their victory over Celtic if they are to pick up the points at Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The Lions return from the international break with a tricky trip to Rugby Park and, while they are coming off a famous 2-0 win over the Hoops, Holt insists the squad must look forward and not back if they are to keep their place in the top six.

Speaking to the Courier, he said: “It’s something we’ve made clear to the boys and they’ve been made aware of the fact that these are the games we will be judged on.

“This is the biggest game for us. Everyone is saying about the Celtic win and it’s great that the players got all the plaudits for it, and they deserved it, but we need to be at it on Saturday if we’re to get anything from the game.

“It’s back to the nitty gritty and, to be fair, the lads have been great in training so I’m looking forward to the game.”

He added: “We’re carrying a few knocks still and we’ll need to manage things during the week but that’s part and parcel of football.”
