Livingston boss David Martindale wary of Raith Rovers threat as Lions prepare for Scottish Cup clash

Livingston have already made it to a national cup final this season.

And that has made manager David Martindale all the more determined to try and get back to Hampden again as they look to continue their Scottish Cup bid with victory over Raith Rovers on Saturday.

The two teams met in the competition last term, with the Lions running out 3-1 winners, but the boss knows it will be no easy task against former Livi manager John McGlynn’s side.

Rovers currently sit second in the Championship and will be eyeing up a cup scalp on the back of a stunning 5-1 rout over Dunfermline on Tuesday night.

Martindale said: “Since I’ve been involved at the club, we’ve never really had a decent run in the Scottish Cup but somehow usually done quite well in the League Cup.

“It’s a cup we need to do better in as a club. It’s a special competition and obviously you qualify for Europe if you win it. Raith certainly won’t be an easy game. I’ve watched them quite a bit and they’re playing really well.

“Anything can happen in cups and we need to be bang at it if we want to be in the draw for the next round.

“We can’t think we can have a bad game and win.”
